The official in charge of the human rights portfolio at the Orphan Charity Foundation, Sayyed Salim al-Musawi, attended an expanded meeting at the Tal Afar District Commissioner's Office building to discuss the issue of missing persons and of the male and female survivors of the crimes of the ISIS terrorist gangs. The meeting was held under the auspices of the Tal Afar District Commissioner's Office and attended by a number of official and humanitarian bodies, including the Tal Afar District Commissioner, a representative of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, the Turkmen representative on the Diwani Order Committee, members of the Female Survivors Directorate and representatives of local civil society organisations.
The attendees discussed ways to unify efforts and intensify coordination among the relevant bodies to ensure justice for the victims, speed up the procedures for searching for the missing, follow up on the situation of the male and female survivors, and provide them with the necessary legal and humanitarian support.
The meeting produced a number of important recommendations, most notably the formation of a central committee comprising the relevant bodies to take direct charge of following up on this humanitarian issue.
